Wesley Rasmussen

Wesley Rasmussen, 74 of Sun Dial Manor in Bristol died on Sunday, December 17, 2017 at Sanford Hospital in Webster. Funeral services will be held 1:30 P.M. Thursday December 21, 2017 at Fiksdal Funeral Service in Webster. Burial will be in the Lakewood Cemetery near Waubay. Wesley Jerome Rasmussen was born on April 29, 1943 to Walter and Judith Rasmussen at Peabody Memorial Hospital in Webster. He was baptized at Roslyn Lutheran Church in Roslyn. As a small child he had multiple disabilities and was cared for at Redfield State Hospital in Redfield, South Dakota. In 1981 he moved to Madison, South Dakota where he entered a group home. He enjoyed many activities and was able to enjoy multiple outings including a Minnesota Twins game with his care givers. He also enjoyed listening to music. In 2013, needing more care, he entered Sun Dial Manor in Bristol where he has lived since. Wesley passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2017 at Webster, South Dakota at the age of 74 years, 7 months and 18 days. Survivors include his siblings, Charlotte (Chuck) Glynn of Fullerton, ND, Loma (Jim) Erickson of Chandler, AZ, Jeanne (Ron) Schetnan of Fergus Falls, MN, Mary Jo (Don) Hough of Sioux Falls, SD and Jim Barber of Yankton, SD; and aunts, many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Walter, his mother and step-father, Judy and Jud Barber and a sister, Alice. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
