Vicky Batie

SANTA ROSA, CA- Vicky Batie of Santa Rosa and formally of Webster died on Monday, March 6, 2006 at Santa Rosa, California after a lingering illness. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, March 17, 2006 at Fiksdal Funeral Chapel in Webster, Rev. John Hisel will officiate. Burial of her cremains will be in Webster Cemetery at a later date. Vicky Batie was born December 12, 1949 in Webster, South Dakota to LaVern “Baldy” and Diane (Parker) Batie. Ms. Batie, a National Merit Finalist, graduated from WHS in 1968. She attended the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis and the University of Nevada in Reno. Although Ms. Batie lived most of her adult life in Minneapolis, Minnesota, she also lived in Honolulu, Hawaii and Webster, SD. She spent the final thirteen years of her life in Santa Rosa, California. She is survived by her mother Diane Batie of Webster, her brother Ron and his wife, Sherri Batie of Cottonwood, California, her sister Joni Batie-McGrew and her husband, Bruce McGrew, and her four nieces Jasmine Hendershot of Redding, California, Shalyn and Chad Fowler of Folsom, California, Caitlin McGrew and Brenna McGrew of Lakeland, Florida. Ms. Batie was predeceased by her father LaVern “Baldy” Batie and her grandparents Esther Batie, Rex Batie, and Elbert and Ada Parker.
