ROSLYN- Vern Aldridge, 84 of Roslyn and formally of Webster died on Thursday, January 04, 2007 at Strand-Kjorsvig Community Rest Home in Roslyn. At the request of Mr. Aldridge, no services will be held. Fiksdal Funeral Service of Webster is in charge of the arrangements. Vernon Edward Aldridge was born on December 24, 1922 to Perry E. and Martha L. (Stevens) Aldridge on a farm near Verdon, South Dakota. In 1930 the family moved to a farm north of Webster. He attended the Hendrickson country school and Roslyn High School. After his schooling he lived near Waubay, then worked several jobs near Webster and in the Groton area. In 1951 he moved to Albaney, Oregon where he worked in millwork, a restaurant, in a retail store for 7 years and as a security guard. In 1984 he retired and moved to Webster. He entered Strand-Kjorsvig Community Rest Home in April 1999. Survivors include one daughter, Gwendlyn Collins of Burnsville, Minnesota. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and two sons.
