Verna Erdahl, 88 of Webster died on Sunday, October 30, 2011 at Bethesda Home in Webster.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M. Thursday November 3, 2011 at American Lutheran Church in Webster, Rev. Jan FitzGibbon will officiate. Burial will be at Webster Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Wednesday 5-7 P.M. and prior to services on Thursday at the church.
Verna Maurine Braley was born on Monday, October 22, 1923 to George and Mary (Sorenson) Braley at Bristol, South Dakota. She was baptized in the Lutheran faith and later confirmed at American Lutheran Church in Webster. She attended grade school in Bristol and attended Webster High School for two years. After she received her education she worked at home.
On October 23, 1941 she married John Erdahl at Webster, South Dakota. After their marriage the couple made their home and farmed in the Webster and surrounding community areas. In 1958 they moved to Webster where she did house cleaning and then worked in the Dietary Department at Bethesda Home for 25 years until she retired in 1993. John passed away in August 1992. Verna entered Bethesda Home in Webster in October 2009.
She was a member of American Lutheran Church in Webster. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, pets and art works. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed holidays with family and friends. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Verna passed away on Sunday, October 30, 2011 at Webster, South Dakota at the age of 88 years and 8 days.
Survivors include one son, Lyle Erdahl of Webster, SD; one daughter, Bonnie Biczkowski of Webster, SD; two granddaughters, Vicki (Kevin) Hink of Raymond, SD and Sherri (Jeff) Roth of Aberdeen, SD; and three great grandchildren, Chassi and Broc Peterson, and Shakira Roth. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister and two daughters.
