Stacy M. (Kurkowski) Roy

Stacy M. (Kurkowski) Roy, 41, of Golden Valley, MN and formerly of Webster passed away Saturday October 24, 2020 at a hospital in MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday October 31, 2020 at Christ The King Catholic Church in Webster. Inurnment will be in the St. Otto’s Catholic Cemetery. The funeral mass will be live-streamed on Fiksdal Funeral Service Facebook page. Stacy Marie Kurkowski was born on October 25, 1978 to Dennis & Bernadette (Kulesa) Kurkowski in Webster, SD. She was baptized and confirmed at Christ the King Catholic Church in Webster, SD. She attended elementary, middle, and high school in Webster, SD and graduated high school from Webster High School in 1997. Following high school, she attended Hennepin County Technical College in Minneapolis, MN where she obtained a degree in graphic design, and then continued onto Minnesota School of Business in Minneapolis, MN, where she graduated with a Veterinarian Technician degree in 2003. She had such a wonderful talent in the health insurance industry and was a health insurance agent for United Healthcare, Medica, & HealthPartners. She also had a special zeal for customer service and held positions at Tennant, Unitron Hearing, and most recently with Wells Fargo. On May 20, 2011, she gave birth to a beautiful daughter, Kayden Isabella. Being a mother was her greatest joy in life and she adored her little miracle princess who is indeed a mini-version of Stacy. After years of courtship, on September 20, 2014, she married her love Rob Roy in Plymouth, MN. Stacy had many hobbies which included cheering on the Minnesota Vikings, Twins, and Timberwolves. She enjoyed going to Valleyfair amusement park with her family. She also enjoyed the summertime activities of fishing, being at the lake and sitting around a bonfire. She loved playing cards at every family function and all of the yelling and laughter that came with the intense card game excitement. She also loved being an auntie. Stacy smothered her nieces and nephew with lots of sugar and noisy toys every chance she had. Stacy will be forever remembered by those who knew her as having a contagiously fun personality and being full of JOY - her smile and laughter would light up the room and bring happiness to all of those around her. She will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her. Stacy passed away due to complications of liver disease on Saturday, October 24, 2020 in Robbinsdale, MN, at the age of 41 years, 11 months, and 29 days. Grateful for having shared her life are her husband Rob and daughter Kayden, both of Robbinsdale, MN; her parents Dennis & Bernadette Kurkowski of Webster, SD; sisters Raquel Kurkowski (Shakopee, MN) and Alicia (Tom) Frelich of West Fargo, ND; her nieces and nephew, Josephine, Carson, Harper, and baby Frelich; her mother-in-law Tae Roy of Eden Praire, MN; brother-in-law Joe Roy (Hutchinson, MN), and many beloved relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents; John and Sabina Kulesa; paternal grandparents, Theodore and Rose Kurkowski; and father-in-law Teddy Roy.
