Rosella Kwasniewski, 97, of Webster, passed away on Sunday May 31, 2020 at Bethesda Nursing Home in Webster.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 A.M. Saturday JUNE 13, 2020 at Christ The King Catholic Church in Webster. Burial will be at St. Ottos Cemetery. Due to COVID-19, there will be no lunch and social distancing guidelines will be followed.
Public "walk through" visitation will be 5-7 P.M. Friday JUNE 12, 2020 at the funeral home. We ask that those in attendance enter on the south side of building and exit through the northeast chapel door.
Rosella Celia Kurkowski was born on March 23, 1923 to Frank and Martha (Snaza) Kurkowski on the family farm near Grenville, South Dakota. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Grenville. She attended country school near the family farm. After her education she worked at Peabody Hospital and at a Café in Webster.
She was united in marriage to Raymond Kwasniewski on June 24, 1946 at St. Josephs Catholic Church. The couple made their home in webster and then rented a farm east of Webster. They bought a farm south of Grenville and lived there for seven years before purchasing a farm in Highland Township south of Webster in 1964. The couple farmed until 1988 when they sold the farm and moved to Gaikowski Addition near Webster. In 2010 the couple moved to Bethesda Home. Ray passed away in 2010. Rosella continued to make her home at Bethesda. She enjoyed quilting, knitting, crocheting, crafting, baking, cooking, and canning and she loved spending time with her kids and grandkids.
Rosella passed away on May 31, 2020 at the age of 97 years, 2 months, and 8 days.
She is survived by five sons; Duane Kwasniewski of Faulkton, SD, Loren (Renee) Kwasniewski of Homlquist, SD, Gary (Margaret) Kwasniewski, David (Jean) Kwasniewski, and Donnan (Karla) Kwasniewski all of Webster, SD, two daughters; Beverly Kwasniewski of Webster, SD and Darlene (Gerald) Lesnar of Grenville, SD, one sister-in-law Margaret Kwasniewski of Duluth, MN, 20 grandchildren and many great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers; Edmond and Phillip Kurkowski, two sisters; Irene Robinson and Henrietta Kurkowski, and one daughter-in-law, Brenda Kwasniewski.
