WEBSTER- Ron Hallstrom 61 of rural Webster died on Monday, December 18, 2006 at his home. His funeral will be at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, December 23, 2006 at American Lutheran Church in Webster, Rev. Jan FitzGibbon officiating. Burial will be in the Webster Cemetery. Visitation will be at Fiksdal Funeral Service in Webster on Friday 4-8 P.M. and prior to services on Saturday. W. Ronald Hallstrom was born on Friday, July 27, 1945 to Duane and Irene (Ihlen) Hallstrom at the Peabody Hospital in Webster, South Dakota. The family lived and he grew up on a farm in Codington County near Wallace. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Pauli Lutheran Church. He attended country school near his home and graduated from Webster High School in 1963. On September 26, 1964 he married Nancy Anderson at the American Lutheran Church in Webster. After their marriage the couple made their home on the Albert Hallstrom farm in Highland Township, Day County, south of Webster where they operated a dairy farm. In 1972 they moved to Paradise, California. They returned to their farm in late 1973 and he began working for Mereen Johnson Machine Company. He was shop foreman at the time of his death. He was a member of American Lutheran Church in Webster and was currently serving on Church Council. During the summer months the couple were active in camping. He loved visiting his children and grandchildren. Ron passed away on Monday, December 18, 2006 at his home south of Webster at the age of 61 years, 4 months and 22 days. Survivors include his wife Nancy of Webster; one son, Corey (Jennifer) Hallstrom of Clark, SD; two daughters, Michelle (Chris) Olson of Las Vegas, NV and Julie (Jim) Wallace of Dallax, TX; his mother, Irene Hallstrom of Webster, SD; two brothers, Paul (Vickie) Hallstrom of Oviedo, FL and Rev. Lee Hallstrom of Delano, MN; one sister, Sally (Brian) Johnson of Minnetonka, MN; his mother-in-law, Evelyn Anderson of Webster, SD; and five grandchildren, Jaron Olson, Devin,Conner, Ryder and Saylor Hallstrom. He was preceded in death by his father, Duane, a grandson, Rayce Olson and his father-in-law, Arthur Anderson.
