Ronald Blood, 63 of Webster died on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at Sanford Hospital in Webster.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, May 21, 2011 at Christ the King Catholic Church in Webster. Burial will follow at St. Ottos Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation on Friday 2-4 P.M. then continuing at the church until 8 P.M. with a 7 P.M. Scriptural prayer service.
Ronald James Blood was born on Monday, October 13, 1947 to James and Maxine (Bierschbach) Blood at Aberdeen, South Dakota. He was baptized at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Aberdeen. When he was five years old the family moved to California and eventually settled in Fremont. He attended Washington High School, graduating in 1965. After graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was stationed in San Francisco.
On January 11, 1969 he was united in marriage to Rebecca Rangel at Fremont, California. After their marriage the couple made their home in Fremont where he worked at Caterpillar Tractor and Mathison Gas Co. In 1980 the couple moved to the Bierschbach family homestead near Webster, South Dakota. Ron worked at Maureen Johnson Company and farmed. After his retirement he helped out transferring buses for Harlow Bus Service.
He was a member of Christ The King Catholic Church. His hobbies included farming, hunting, fishing camping, baking bread, cooking and tinkering in his shop.
Ron passed away on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at Webster, South Dakota at the age of 63 years, 7 months and 4 days.
Survivors include his wife, Beckie of Webster; three daughters, Michelle (Ryan) Blood-Schilling of Clear Lake, SD, Erica (Matt) Knippling of Flandreau, SD and Christine (Donavon) Cawley of Plymouth, MN; his parents, James and Maxine Blood of Fremont, CA; four brothers, Richard (Maggie) Blood of Mokelumne Hill, CA, Robert (Kim) Blood and Thomas Blood both of Freemont, CA and Steven (Darlene) Blood of Placerville, CA; one sister, Katherine (Joseph) Sylvia of McKinleyville, CA; and five grandchildren, Christopher Blood, Jasmine Alexis Schilling, Liam and Jillian Knippling.
