Robert "Bob" Wagers

Bob Wagers, 69, of Waubay passed away unexpectedly Monday, July 11, 2022.

Memorial Visitation will be at 12:00 P.M. on Saturday, August 13, 2022, at the Waubay Community Center in Waubay, SD. 

Robert Cyril Wagers was born on February 4, 1953, to Cyril and Mary Jane (Liggett) Wagers at Hawarden, Iowa. He attended school in Hawarden and graduated from West Sioux High School in 1972. He furthered his education at South Dakota State University in Brookings and obtained a bachelor of science degree. 

On November 18, 1978, he married Lori Holmgren at Rapid City, South Dakota. The couple had three sons: Josh, Jesse, and Jamie. The family made their home in Waubay and Bob served as the manager at the Blue Dog State Fish Hatchery and then the Waubay City manager until his retirement. 

Bob was an avid Minnesota Twins and Vikings fan. He especially enjoyed time spent at home with his family and cherished time with his grandkids.  

Bob will be forever loved and greatly missed by his wife Lori, of Waubay, sons: Josh Wagers of Colorado Springs, CO, Jesse (Shana) Wagers of Harrisburg, SD, and Jamie (fiance’ Courtney) Wagers of Baltic, SD, eight grandchildren: Keira Wagers, Cooper Wagers, Rylee Wagers, Reagan Wagers, Raezell Wagers, Kylar Wagers, Bentley Severson, and Ayvah Severson. He is also survived by one brother Steven Wagers of Hawarden, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents and two grandchildren Jesse Lee Wagers Jr. and Kennedy Wagers.
