Robert "Rob" Ash, 41, of Bristol, passed away Saturday, December 7, 2024, due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
His funeral will be 2:00 pm Friday, December 13, 2024 at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Bristol. Blue jeans and casual attire is requested to be worn in honor of Rob. Interment will be at St. Ansgar Cemetery near Lily.
There will be no public visitation.
Robert Daniel Ash was born on May 5, 1983, at Watertown, South Dakota to Daniel and Lori (Vehe) Ash. He was baptized and confirmed at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Bristol. He attended school in Bristol and graduated in 2002. After high school, he attended Lake Area Technical College in Watertown. After his education, he returned home to farm with his Grandpa Charlie.
On June 30, 2012, he married Amy Valsvig at Bethesda Lutheran Church. The couple made their home with their three children, Riley, Jaxon, and Kinsley, on the Vehe Family Homestead. Rob had a great passion for farming, both land and cattle. He loved the outdoors and was often found working with his furry sidekicks at his side. He loved snowmobiling in the wintertime and took great pride in putting on a dynamite fireworks show for his children each 4th of July. Rob had a gentle heart and a kind soul who would help anyone and not take anything in return. He cherished time with his family. His children were his world. He had a special bond with each of them.
Though his time here was all too short, he will be forever loved and always remembered by his wife Amy, children Riley, Jaxon, and Kinsley all of Bristol, SD, his parents Lori Ash of Bristol, SD, and Dan Ash of Aberdeen, SD, siblings Amy (Dennis) Peckham of Bristol, SD, Jenny (Chris) Faber of Webster, SD, Randy (Mary) Ash of Sioux Falls, SD, father & mother-in-law Danny and Michelle Valsvig of Webster, SD, brothers-in-law Jason (Megan) Valsvig of Aberdeen, SD, Tyler (Sabrina) Valsvig of Watertown, SD, Jeremy Valsvig of Webster, SD, Tanner (Adrienne) Valsvig of Pittsburg, PA, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Charlie and Audrey Vehe, cousin Russell Vehe, stepfather Greg McKane, and close friend Barry Moss.
