Robert Keith Parker was born on July 7, 1941, to C. Elmer and Flossie (Elliott) in Brookings, South Dakota. He was baptized at Woodlake Church near their home and confirmed at Leganger Church in Toronto. He attended country school at Goodview District #53 and went to high school in Clear Lake, where he enjoyed running track. He graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1959. After his education, he joined the South Dakota National Guard and was honorably discharged in 1965.
On April 30, 1966, he married Lucille Nelson at Leganger Church in Toronto. To this union, two children were born, Todd and Denise. While the couple was busy raising their children, Keith attended Lake Area Tech to obtain his degree in Agriculture Business. The family moved around a bit before settling in Webster, where Keith took a position at Centrol. He worked as an agriculture crop consultant for some time until he decided to branch off and start his own consulting firm, “Rolling Plains Consulting”. Keith retired in 2005, but due to his inability to be idle, he sold Mustang Seed for several years until his “second retirement”. Again, he was needing something more to fill his days, so he began transporting cars and boats for the local dealerships until the long trips became too much.
Keith was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Webster, where he was past council member, member of the St. John’s Men’s Group, and served as an usher for many years. He was also a member of SD Independent Crop Consultants Association. He enjoyed following Bearcat sports, playing card games on his computer, word search, and fishing. He cherished the many fishing trips to Canada.
Keith loved his family dearly and will be lovingly remembered by his wife Lucy of Webster, SD, his children, Todd (Louise) Parker of Spicer, MN and Denise Parker of Sunlakes, AZ, grandson, Jake Parker of Spicer, MN, sister Eva Mae Hinricher of Knoxville, IA, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Lyle, Gerald, Melvin, Laura, and Arlett.
