WEBSTER- Robert “Bob” Faehn 78 of Webster died on Tuesday, October 23, 2007 at his home in Webster. His funeral will be at 10:00 A.M. Friday, October 26, 2007 at Westside Wesleyan Church in Bristol, Rev. Matt Pribyl officiating. Burial will be at 1:00 P.M. at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Watertown. Visitation will be at Fiksdal Funeral Service in Webster on Thursday 5-7 P.M. with a 6:00 P.M. prayer service. Robert Eugene Faehn was born on Tuesday, December 18, 1928 to Melvin and Agnes (Kringen) Faehn on a farm near Wallace, South Dakota. As a small child the family moved to Watertown where he attended school and graduated from Watertown High School in 1947. He was employed at Hubbard Motor Company in Watertown. He attended Nettleton Business College in Sioux Falls and also took courses at the University of Minnesota. He began his career in healthcare administration at Luther Memorial Hospital in Watertown in 1950. On June 23, 1951 he married Bette Wight at Watertown, South Dakota. After their marriage the couple made their home in Watertown. For the next 54 years, Bob served in the health administration field. He was hospital administrator in Pipestone, Minnesota and then moved to Eveleth to oversee the building of a new hospital. From there, Bob served hospitals in Albert Lea, Minnesota, Madison, S. Dak. And Cannon Falls, Minnesota. In 1988 the couple moved to Webster where he was administrator at Bethesda Home, and later commuted to Tekakwitha Nursing Home in Sisseton and to Strand-Kjorsvig Community Rest Home in Roslyn. At the age of 70 he retired but continued to work part-time. His last position was at Faulkton County Memorial Hospital. He served on many boards including Blue Cross-Blue Shield Board, Pace Shared Servers Group, Madison school board and numerous church boards. He was currently a member of Westside Wesleyan Church in Bristol where he served on the church board for ten years and was a lay leader. Bob passed away on Tuesday, October 23, 2007 at his home in Webster at the age of 78 years, 10 months and 5 days. He is now at home with the Lord he loved and served. Survivors include his wife, Bette of Webster; a son, Randy Faehn of Webster, SD; one daughter, Deb (J.D.) Alexander of Pilger, NE; one sister, Maxine (Jim) Cook of Watertown, SD; two grandchildren, Kesa Alexander and Joshua (Darci) Alexander both of Pilger, NE; and one great granddaughter, Danika. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
