Rita Johnson, 74, (widow of Robert Zakrzewski) of Webster passed away Monday March 30, 2020 at her sons home in Brentford.
Private graveside services will be held for the immediate family. A Celebration Of Life will be held at a later date.
Rita Rae Hartberg was born on August 25, 1945 to Raymond and Ruth (Jordanger) Hartberg in Britton, South Dakota. She was baptized and confirmed at Augustana Lutheran Church near Langford, South Dakota. Rita attended country school near the family home and graduated from Langford High School in 1962. After her education she worked various jobs in the Langford area. She married Everett Johnson and the couple made their home in Roslyn, South Dakota. In the early 80’s she moved to Webster where she worked at Dakota Quilting. She married Robert Zakrzewski on February 13, 1984 and the couple continued to live in Webster. After 22 years at Dakota she shifted gears and worked in Dietary at Bethesda Home in Webster until her retirement. Robert passed away in 2006. Rita continued to live in Webster. Rita enjoyed quilting, baking, reading, trips to the casino, playing bingo, spending time with family and babysitting her great-nieces Taihlyn and Skylar.
Rita passed away on Monday, March 30, 2020 at the age of 74 years 7 months and 5 days.
She will be greatly missed by her three sons, Robert (Stephanie) Zakrzewski Jr. of Albany, GA, Ray (Adam) Roemmick of Brentford, SD, and Ross Zakrzewski of Webster, SD; three daughters, Laura Zakrzewski of Sioux Falls, SD, Shonda (Brian) Johnson of Scotland, SD, and Jayne (Todd Hanson) Johnson of Deadwood, SD; two brothers, Rod Hartberg and Rocky Hartberg both of Langford, SD; one sister, Rose Zakrzewski of Webster, SD; and eight grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Ronald Hartberg, and brother-in-law Arnold Zakrzewski.
