Rick Rudebusch

WAUBAY- Rick Rudebusch, 65 of Waubay died on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at Bethesda Home in Webster. His funeral will be at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, November 26, 2016 at Ortley Free Lutheran Church in Ortley, Robert Grebel will officiate. Burial will be at Ortley Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday 5-7 P.M. and prior to services on Saturday at the church. Ricky Lee Rudebusch was born on February 24, 1951 at Webster, South Dakota to Robert and Ramona (Knopf) Rudebusch. He was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Waubay, South Dakota. He attended school in Waubay and graduated from Waubay High School in 1969. After high school he attended horse ferrying School in Oklahoma. Upon completion, he returned to South Dakota and worked construction as a heavy equipment operator. Ricky also worked as an over the road trucker for several years. In 1994, Rick began working as a broker for J&H Transportation. He was very proud to be a part of the J&H team and was extremely dedicated to his work. On November 27, 2009, Ricky married Pamela Holler-Bartelt. The couple made their home on Blue Dog Lake near Waubay. Rick loved fishing and spending time on the lake. You would often find him in his Bobcat playing in the dirt, digging up his yard or helping out a neighbor. He was a lifelong member of Ortley Free Lutheran Church, where he was very actively involved. Rick had a kind heart and was very proud of his children and grandchildren. Rick passed away on Tuesday November 22, 2016 at Webster, South Dakota at the age of 65 years, 8 months and 29 days. Grateful for having shared in his life are his wife Pamela of Waubay, SD, Angel (Paul) Luttmann of Tea, SD, Brian (Riesa) Rudebusch of Watertown, SD, Billie Jo (Brad) McKown of Boise, ID, Christa (Travis) Peterson of Watertown, SD, Nichole (Justin) Ringing Shield of Sioux Falls, SD, Amanda Bartelt of Webster, SD, and Darwin (Anndell) Bartelt of Webster, 21 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and four Godchildren. He is also survived by his mother Ramona Rudebusch of Webster, SD, siblings Larry (Judi) Rudebusch of Corona, SD, David (Donna) Rudebusch of Summit, SD, Julie (Lloyd) Kranz of Kranzburg, SD and Robert (Jean) Rudebusch of Wahpeton, ND, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Robert and sister Susan.
