Richie was born to Richard Otto Kroll Jr and Sharon Marie (Raap) (Kroll) Busch on August 1, 1972 at 10:30 am at St Luke's Medical Center in Aberdeen, South Dakota. He graduated from Bristol high school in 1991 and continued to spend the majority of his life living and working in the community. In 1999 Rich was blessed with the birth of his first daughter Taylor. He later married Becca Kuecker where he gained another title of dad with Jadynn and finally with the birth of Mattea in 2003. In 2020 his granddaughter Paislee was born, completing what we all know to this day as "the girls".
Richie was always known for his hard work ethic, which he learned in his early years on the family farm, milking cows. After the farm was sold, Richie continued the farm life by going to work for Zimmerman farms, helping with the daily tasks of cattle and fieldwork, where he spent over 36 years until his passing, always available to lend a hand during planting and harvest. After helping Brent, Vickie and Jake full time for many years, Richie went to work for Johnson Construction, where he cut his teeth in the construction world, learning skills that he would later use in his own construction business, Kroll Construction. Never seeming to think he had enough on his plate, in 2018 he opened up a bar in the community of Andover. The Other Place became a place where friends could gather and relax, a testament to Richie's willingess of always being there to listen. He was an extremely hard worker and took great pride in every project he took on. Because he considered many in the community as family, he was always willing to help with projects, checking up on his friends, or anything else that needed done.
Richie's true love and devotion in life however were his daughters Taylor, Jadynn and Mattea, and enjoyed nothing more than having his daughters on the job sites with him. He was their pillar and their rock. He enjoyed helping all he could in any way that he could, and was always up for a road trip and a rock concert. He created countless memories with all who he touched in his life, making numerous friends, all of whom he cherished dearly. Rich had a huge heart and his generosity, kindness, and unforgettable smile are just a small part of the wonderful memories his family and friends will always look back on with comfort.
