Ramona Estwick, 88 of Webster died on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at Good Samaritan Center in Sioux Falls.
Her funeral will be 2:00 P.M. Monday July 17, 2017 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Webster. Burial will be in the Webster Cemetery.
Visitation will be Sunday 5-7 P.M. at the funeral home. And an hour prior to service, with family present, at the church on Monday.
Ramona Maxine Gill was born on June 6, 1929 to Leo and Gertrude (Wagner) Gill at Bristol, South Dakota. She was baptized and confirmed at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Bristol. She attended school in Bristol and graduated from Bristol High School in 1946.
On June 15, 1952, she married Eldon Estwick, to this union two children were born, Gail and Raydon. The family made their home in Webster.
Ramona worked as a medical assistant for many years. She was employed at Caldwell Hospital, Peabody Clinic, and Day County Medical Center until her retirement in 2003. Mr. Estwick passed away May of 2010.
Ramona was a member at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Webster. She enjoyed her work, her home, and her family. She also enjoyed flowers, crafting and knitting. She shared many batches of homemade chocolate fudge, doughnuts, cookies, and peanut brittle with friends and relatives. In later years, she enjoyed playing bingo, growing hibiscus plants, completing word find puzzles, and visiting with friends.
In March 2013, Ramona became a resident at Bethesda Home in Webster. Recently, she moved to the Good Samaritan Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. A few weeks before her passing, she enjoyed a family visit from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was able to hold the twins, the newest members of the family.
Ramona passed away Thursday July 13, 2017 at Sioux Falls, SD at the age of 88 years, 1 month, and 7 days.
She will be greatly missed by her daughter Gail (Donald) Wahl of Sioux Falls, SD, two grandchildren, Ryan (Meagen) Wahl of Des Moines, IA, and Matthew Wahl of Sioux Falls, SD, four great-grandchildren, Tristan, Roxanne Violet, Greyson, and Grechyn Azalea. She is also survived by three sisters, Lois Zumm of Beaver Dam, WI, Cleo Esche of Watertown, SD, and Sharon Gill of Clear lake, SD, one brother-in-law Bob (Gloria) Estwick of Sisseton, SD, many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Eldon, son Raydon, sister Sandra Kirchmeier, brother Gordon Gill, and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
