Philip Weiland

Philip Weiland, 74, of Pierpont, South Dakota, passed away on Sunday, March 26, 2023 at his home in Pierpont.

Memorial Services will be at a later date.

Philip Michael Weiland was born on September 7, 1948, in Crookston, Minnesota to Ralph and Helen (Kuhn) Weiland. He was baptized and confirmed into the Catholic faith. Philip attended country school and later attended Crookston High School. After his education he farmed and later enlisted into the United States army. He was stationed in Germany and was later stationed in Vietnam. He moved to Pierpont in 1985 where he worked for Stanley Boe and other farmers in the area. He moved to Crookston in 1989 and after an injury he was forced into early retirement. Philip enjoyed watching Western TV shows and going for golf cart rides.

Philip passed away on March 26, 2023, at the age of 74 years, 6 months, and 19 days.

Philip is survived by his wife Linda Weiland of Pierpont, SD; his children Teresa Kieffer of Frazee, MN, Philip Weiland Jr. of Frazee, MN, Angel Weiland of Frazee, MN; step-children, Larry (Sonja) Dauwen of South Carolina, Lisa (Milland) Heinz of Langford, SD, Lyndon (Holly) Dauwen of Manford, OK; 11 grandchildren; his in-laws, Gary (Martha) Jandahl of Langford, SD, Dale Swenson of Langford, SD, Roger (Jenie) Swenson of Tucson, AZ, and Ruth Longstreet of Webster, SD; and many nieces and nephews. 

He is preceded in death by his parent, Ralph and Helen Weiland; his daughter Lisa Weiland; stepson Lee Dauwen; brother Jack Weiland; in-laws Orvin and Josephine Swenson; and brother-in-law Larry.
