BRISTOL- Pearl Kightlinger, 90 of Bristol died on Friday, June 07, 2013 at Sun Dial Manor in Bristol. Her funeral will be at 10:30 A.M. Satuday, June 15, 2013 at the United Methodist Church in Bristol, Pastors Eugene and Marilyn Moeller officiating. Burial will be in the Bristol Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. Fiksdal Funeral Service of Webster is in charge of the arrangements. Pearl Bernice Roth was born on Wednesday, June 28, 1922 to George and Helena (Marx) Roth at Bristol, South Dakota. She attended school in Bristol and graduated from high school in 1940. She then attended Remilie’s Beauty School in Aberdeen where she graduated in March 1941. She moved to Webster where she worked for Mary Atwater and worked there until 1943. She then opened her own shop in Bristol. On August 31, 1955 she was united in marriage to Clayton Kightlinger at the United Methodist Church in Bristol. After their marriage they made their home in Bristol where she operated her main street beauty shop until 2003. She also worked one day a week at the beauty shop at Sun Dial Manor. Clayton passed away in March 1998. After his death she continued to live in Bristol and entered Sun Dial Manor July 2008. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Bristol. For many summers, Pearl and Kight enjoyed time at their Enemy Swim Lake cabin. Many people have towel sets and decorations due to Pearl’s love of cross-stitch and embroidery. She will be remembered for her baked goodies sold at Kight’s Recreation and the popcorn balls she made at Christmas time. Pearl passed away on June 7, 2013 at Bristol, South Dakota at the age of 90 years, 11 months and 10 days. She is survived by one sister, Evelyn (Cy) Fyhrlund of Pequot Lakes, MN and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sisters, Elvie (Oliver) Ohleen, Lorene (Arnold) Anderson, Lorinda (Everett) Morehouse and Vera (Clayton) Peckham.
