Orinne Hagen

June 15, 1933 — August 2, 2022

Orinne Hagen, 89, of Webster, SD, passed away on Tuesday, August 2, 2022, at Bethesda Home in Webster.

Funeral Services will be on Friday, August 19, 2022, at 10:00 A.M. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Webster. Burial will be at Webster Cemetery. Luncheon will at the church following burial. 

Visitation will be 5-7 P.M. Thursday, August 18, 2022, at Fiksdal Funeral Service.

Orinne Bernadine (Lillemoe) Hagen was born on June 15, 1933 to John and Agnes (Ugland) Lillemoe in Benton Township near Conde, South Dakota. She was baptized at Bethany Lutheran Church near Mellette, SD, and confirmed at Lands Lutheran Church, rural Hudson, SD. She attended country school in Benton Township. In 1946 the family moved to Canton, SD. She graduated from Augustana Academy, Canton, SD in 1951. She attended Northern State Teacher's College, Aberdeen, SD from 1951-53. She taught 2nd grade at Webster Public School from 1953-1956, and then taught 1st grade at Stewart, MN for one year.

On September 14, 1957, she was united in marriage to Kenneth Duane Hagen. After their marriage the couple made their home in Webster. She was church secretary at St. John's Lutheran Church from 1957-1960. Later she was employed by the Webster school district as a teacher's aide and then as the elementary library aide. She retired in May of 1999. Kenny passed away on April 9, 1989.

She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church where she was active in the women’s groups, choirs, served on the church council, and taught Sunday School for many years. She was a member of Sons of Norway, Progressive Reading Circle, and was a member of the American Cancer Society Relay for Life for 15 years.

Orinne passed away August 2, 2022 at the age of 89.

Survivors include: one son, John (Cindy) Hagen of Waubay, SD; two daughters, Mary (Tim) Schavee of Sioux Falls, SD; Amy (Tony) Geffre of West Fargo, ND; three grandchildren, Payton Hanson of West Fargo, ND; Sara Schavee and Liz Schavee of Sioux Falls, SD; one sister-in-law, Carol Hagen of Lakeville, MN; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters Francis Twedt, Phyllis Wells, Marguerite Bergren, and Jo Burch.
