Mary Czmowski, 84 of Webster died on Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at Sun Dial Manor in Bristol. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 A.M. Monday, July 18, 2011 at Christ The King Catholic Church in Webster, burial will be at St. Ottos Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday 2-4 P.M. then continuing at the church until 8 P.M. with a 7 P.M. Rosary Service. Mary Catherine Seck was born on Saturday, December 4, 1926 to John and Catherine Beatrice (Prunty) Seck on a farm in Brown County, South Dakota near Andover. She attended country school near her home and graduated from Andover High School. She attended Northern State Teachers College in Aberdeen where she received her teaching certificate and taught country schools in the Webster area. On July 9, 1947 she was united in marriage to Leo Czmowski at St. Ottos Catholic Church in Webster, South Dakota. After their marriage the couple made their home and farmed south of Webster. In 1953 they moved to Minneapolis where they lived for a year and then returned to Webster. Mary worked at Anthonys Store, was a Stanley Home Products dealer and worked at Bethesda Home as a dietary aide for twenty five years. She retired after the death of her husband in 2002. She entered Sun Dial Manor in Bristol, South Dakota in January 2007. She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church where she wasa Eucharistic Minister, Head Usher, sang in the church choir and was a member of the Altar Society and Catholic Daughters. Her hobbies included crocheting, sewing, baking, playing the piano, cards and bingo. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and family. Mary passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at Bristol, South Dakota at the age of 84 years, 7 months and 8 days. Survivors include one son, Ron (Brenda) Czmowski of Black Hawk, SD; four daughters, Donna (Terry) Klabo of Jamestown, ND, Diane Ross of Rapid City, SD, Carol (Terry) Fritz of Sioux Falls, SD and Lori (Bob) Snaza of Webster, SD; fourteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo, one son, Ray, one brother and five sisters.
