WEBSTER- Mary Helen Aldous 86, of Webster, died on Monday, May 22, 2006 at the Bethesda Home in Webster. Her funeral will be at 1:00 P.M. Friday, May 26, 2006 at Fiksdal Funeral Chapel in Webster, Rev. William Olsen officiating. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Clark. Closed casket visitation will be at Fiksdal Funeral Service in Webster on Thursday 4-7 P.M. Mary Helen Myers was born on Monday August 4, 1919 to Lawrence and Pauline (Engen) Myers in Clark, South Dakota. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Clark. She attended grade school in Clark and in 1937 she graduated from high school. After graduation she moved to California, but after one year returned to Clark. On December 12, 1938 she married Lloyd Aldous. After their marriage the couple made their home in Montevideo Minnesota. They later lived in Clark and Milbank South Dakota for a short time. The couple then moved to Lemmon South Dakota and made their home there for four years. In the summer of 1948, the family moved to Aberdeen and in 1968 they moved to Webster. Mr. Aldous passed away on May 16, 2003. After his death Mary Helen continued to live in their home in Webster. On May 10, 2006, she entered Bethesda Nursing Home and resided there until her passing. While a member at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Aberdeen, she was active in teaching confirmation classes, Sunday school, and Bible school. She was very active in Girl Scouts and was a member on their State Board. She enjoyed traveling, reading, cross-word puzzles, gardening, and going out for coffee with her friends. Mary Helen passed away on Monday May 22, 2006 at Webster, South Dakota at the age of 86 years, 9 months, and 18 days. Survivors include: two daughters; Paula (George) Howell of Sumter, SC and Linda (Rolfe) Ludtke of Webster, SD, one daughter-in-law; Gloria Aldous of Surprise, AZ, two brothers; Lawrence (Edith) Myers of Tulsa OK and Gail Myers of Jacksonville, OR, and five grandsons. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one son, William.
