WEBSTER- Marlene “Molly” Kuecker 76 of Webster died on Thursday, October 1, 2009 at her home. Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M. Monday, October 5, 2009 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Webster, Rev. Daniel Ostercamp officiating. Burial will be in the Webster Cemetery. Visitation will be at Fiksdal Funeral Service (fiksdalfuneral.com) in Webster on Sunday 5-7 P.M. and prior to services at the church on Monday. Marlene Kathlene Folven was born on Tuesday, March 7, 1933 to Knute and Mable (Stadsklev) Folven at Lily, South Dakota. She was baptized at Lily Lutheran Church and later confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Webster. She attended school at Lily and then transferred to Webster schools where she graduated in 1951. After high school she attended Northern State Teacher’s College in Aberdeen where she received her teaching certificate. She began teaching in a country school near Lily. On December 30, 1951 she married the love of her life, Charles W. Kuecker, at Webster, South Dakota. After their marriage, the couple made their home on a farm in Morton Township, Day County, south of Webster and started what would become the center of her life - their family. In 1961 they moved to Webster where she worked at Bethesda Home. In 1964 Chuck and Molly purchased Roger‘s Café. After running a 24 hour restaurant for 5 years, they sold the café and in 1969 Molly began working at Day County Medical Center where she worked until her retirement in 2001. Molly was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Webster where she was a member of W.E.L.C.A. and Circle. Her hobbies included baking, canning, sewing, crocheting and the couple loved to go camping. Above all, she loved and took great pride in caring for “Papa,” her children, and especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was never happier than when she was involved in and supporting their lives. Molly passed away suddenly on Thursday, October 1, 2009 at her home in Webster, South Dakota at the age of 76 years, 6 months and 24 days. Survivors include her husband, Charles “Chuck” Kuecker of Webster; two daughters, Kristen (Paul) Tvinnereim and Kari (Allen) Stacey both of Webster, SD; one son, Dana (Rachel) Kuecker of Rapid City, SD; one brother, Kermit (Marge) Folven of Littleton, CO; three sisters, Jeanette Knutson and Sylvia Matthews both of Webster, SD and Evelyn Hanson of Madison, MN; seven grandchildren, Eric (Barbara) Tvinnereim, Aaron (Alison) Tvinnereim, Candice Tvinnereim, Charlie Ann Steinhoff, Jeremiah (Katie) Stacey, Samuel and Joseph Kuecker; and six great grandchildren, Jacob, Haley and Mia Tvinnereim, Molly Jean, Michael and Brianna Steinhoff. She was preceded in death by her parents and three infant grandchildren. She will always be deeply missed by her loving husband of 58 years, her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and all of those whose lives she touched.
