Mark Vehe

Mark Vehe, 57 of Bristol passed away on Monday, February 20, 2017 at Sanford Hospital in Webster. Memorial services will be at 3:00 P.M. Monday, February 27, 2017 at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Bristol, Rev. Chris Strohm officiating. Inurnment will be at Bristol Cemetery. Memorial visitation will be at Bethesda Lutheran Church on Saturday beginning at 4 P.M. and ending with a 5 P.M. prayer service. Born on June 3, 1959 at Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Mark Alan Vehe was the son of Charles and Audrey (Hanson) Vehe of Bristol. He was baptized and confirmed at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Bristol. He grew up near Bristol, attended school in Bristol and graduated from Bristol High School in 1977. After high school he farmed with his father in Bristol and Butler Townships, east and southeast of Bristol. On February 17, 1983 he married Jacqueline Grajczyk at Sioux Falls, South Dakota. After their marriage the couple lived near Bristol. To this union four children were born, Russell, Audra, Sandra and Matthew. The couple later divorced. On June 5, 2010 Mark was united in marriage to Karla McKane. After their marriage the couple lived on the Vehe farm east of Bristol where Mark, after his father’s death, farmed the Vehe Trust land with his sister, Lori McKane. Because of poor health Mark was forced to retire from active farming in 2011. He was a member of Bethesda Lutheran Church in Bristol. He loved classic cars and motorcycles and collected guns and knives. He enjoyed being with family and friends and listening to rock and roll music. Survivors include his wife, Karla of Bristol; one son Matthew Vehe of Bristol, SD; three daughters, Audra (Mike Swenson of Bristol, SD, Sandra Vehe (Jerod Shepherd) of Watertown, SD and Jennifer (Clay) Hawkins of Wetumpka, AL; one sister, Lori Ash (Greg McKane) of Bristol, SD; and four grandchildren, Sheldon, Caiya, Hunter and Kayde. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Russell and his former wife, Jackie.
