Mark Ewalt, 60, of Wilmot and formerly of Grenville passed away on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at Wilmot Care Center in Wilmot.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, March 5, 2022, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Grenville, SD. Father Ken Lulf will officiate. Luncheon will follow at the Longbranch in Grenville. Summer Inurnment will be at a later date.
Visitation will be 5-7 P.M. on Friday, March 4, 2022, at Fiksdal Funeral Service in Webster and will close with a Prayer Service at 7 P.M.
Mark Anthony Ewalt was born on December 9, 1961, in Webster, South Dakota to Anthony and Mary Ann (Weyh) Ewalt. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Grenville. Mark attended parochial school in Grenville and later graduated from Webster High School. After his education he worked various jobs.
Mark participated in the Special Olympics for many years and was also a member of the Turkey Federation. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed spending time hunting and fishing. He enjoyed playing cards, going bowling, and watching and cheering on the Minnesota Twins and the Minnesota Vikings.
Mark passed away on Wednesday, February 23, 2022, at the age of 60 years, 2 months, and 14 days.
He will be missed by his mom, Mary Ann Ewalt of Roslyn, SD; his five siblings, Mary Jane (George) Goodhart of Corona, SD, Jo Ellen (Mark) Davidson of Webster, SD, Grace Zubke of Watertown, SD, David (Kari) Ewalt of Webster, SD, and Michael (Mary) Ewalt of Jefferson, IA; and his many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his dad, his maternal and paternal grandparents, and one brother-in-law Jack Zubke.
