Marilyn Olson

WAUBAY- Marilyn Olson, 75 of Waubay died on Tuesday, February 07, 2006 at Jenkins Living Center in Watertown. Her funeral will be at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, February 11, 2006 at Fiksdal Funeral Chapel in Webster, Rev. William Olsen officiating. Burial will be in the spring at New Helgen Cemetery near Florence. Visitation will be at Fiksdal Funeral Service in Webster on Friday 4-8 P.M. and one hour prior to services on Saturday. Marilyn Elaine Gustafson was born on Wednesday, March 19, 1930 to August and Elsie Marie (Helmer) Gustafson at Minneapolis, Minnesota. She attended school in Minneapolis. After receiving her education she worked at the Spray Brite Company for seventeen years and then for the Nut Goody Company until her retirement in 1974. On May 31, 1978 she married Oris J. Olson at Milbank, South Dakota. After their marriage the couple made their home in Minnepolis. In 1991 the couple moved to Eden, South Dakota and then in 1993 they moved to Waubay. She entered Jenkins Living Center in Watertown in late January, 2006. She loved her cats, Blacky and Smokey. Her hobbies included crocheting, sewing, knitting, crosswork puzzles and reading recipe books. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Waubay. Survivors include her husband, Oris of Waubay; two step-sons, Mark (Rose) Roberts of Sioux Falls, SD and Mike (Sandra) Roberts of Watertown, SD; one brother, Stanley (Ronetta) Gustafson of Minneapolis, MN; one sister, Nancy (Richard) Nelson of Elk River, MN; two sisters-in-law, Janet (Darrell) Schmidt of Watertown, SD and Barbara (Conrad) Plasier of Omaha, NE; three step-grandchildren, one step-great grandchild, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister.
