Marianne Korf, 82 of Bristol died Sunday August 5, 2012 at Sun Dial Manor in Bristol. A memorial service will be 2:30 P.M. Saturday August 11, 2012 at the United Methodist Church in Bristol, Rev. John Hisel will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Bristol Cemetery. Marianne Luise Rinne was born on Tuesday April 22, 1930 to Friedrich and Anna (Bohle) Rinne at Boesingfeld, Germany. She was baptized into the Protestant faith at Evangelical Reformed Church in Boesingfeld. She attended school in Germany. On January 10, 1952 Marianne was united in marriage to Willie Korf at Boesingfeld. On May 5, 1952 Marianne and Willie immigrated to the United States. The couple made their home in Bristol, South Dakota. Willie worked for Hansmeier Sons while Marianne Stayed home to raise their two sons Gerald and Arnold. She also was an Avon saleswoman in her spare time. Marianne was an active member of United Methodist Church in Bristol where she was a communion steward and treasurer for 20 years. She was also a member of the Jolly Dozen Club, Dinner Club, and Sun Dial Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening and was famously known in the area for her German cooking and baking. Marianne passed away Sunday August 5, 2012 at Bristol, South Dakota at the age of 82 years, three months, and 14 days. She is survived by two sons Gerald (Jeanette) Korf and Arnold Korf all of Omaha, NE, one sister Lieselotte Fischer of Boesingfeld, Germany, two brothers Gerhard Rinne and Friedel Rinne both of Assmissen, Germany, three grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
