WEBSTER- Margaret Delaney, 77 of Webster died on Monday, April 3, 2006 at Prairie Lakes Hospital in Watertown. Her funeral will be at 10:30 A.M. Friday, April 7, 2006 at American Lutheran Church in Webster, Rev. Jan FitzGibbon officiating. Burial will be in the Webster Cemetery. Visitation will be at Fiksdal Funeral Service in Webster on Thursday, 4-7 P.M. and prior to services on Friday at the church. Margaret Marie Johnson was born on Friday, July 13, 1928 to Almon and Jennie (Holm) Johnson at Waubay, South Dakota. She was baptized at the Norwegian Lutheran Church in Waubay and later confirmed at American Lutheran Church in Webster. She graduated from Webster High School in 1946. After high school she worked at Marshall Wells Store in Webster until 1948. On May 6, 1948 she married Frank Bartos in Seattle, Washington. The couple lived there for the next six years. In 1954 they returned to Webster and purchased, what later became the Polka Dot Tavern. To this union they were blessed with four children, Jeanne, Mike, Josh and Margo. In 1970, Frank and Mike passed away in a boating accident. On April 8, 1971 she married Jim Delaney in Webster and welcomed three step-children into her life. Jim passed away on March 5, 2006 Margaret was a member of the American Lutheran Church and the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed bowling on the Koenig Ditch Diggers team. For the past 35 years she loved sharing her life with Jim at their Pickerel Lake home. She loved gardening and was very proud of her beautiful flowers. She also enjoyed having coffee with her many friends, playing the slot machines and watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren grow up. Margaret passed away on Monday, April 3, 2006 at Watertown, South Dakota at the age of 77 years, 8 months and 21 days. Survivors include one son, Josh (Nancy) Bartos of Webster, SD; two daughters, Jeanne (Mike) Wattier of Yorba Linda, CA & Margo (Jim) Spiering of Watertown, SD; two step-sons, Kent (Julie) Delaney of Webster, SD & Dave (Annette) Delaney of Fargo, ND; one step-daughter, Lori Bommersbach of Grand Forks, ND; four brothers, Donald “Buddy” Johnson of Webster, SD, Almon “Windy” Johnson of Watertown, SD, Duane “Sonny” Johnson of Webster, SD & Robert “Bobby” (Eileen) Johnson of Chicago, IL; one sister, Barbara (Jerry) Jacobson of Webster, SD; eight grandchildren, nine step-grandchildren & three great grandchildren & 2 step-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, one son, Mike, two brothers and one sister.
