Fiksdal Funeral Service of Webster is in charge of the following arrangements: ANDOVER- Lyn May, 53 of Andover passed away on Friday, February 6, 2009 at his home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:00 P.M. Monday, February 16, 2009 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Bristol, with burial in All Saints Catholic Cemetery, Andover. Closed casket visitation will start at 6:00 P.M. Sunday evening at the church in Bristol followed by a 7:00 P.M. Wake Service. Fiksdal Funeral Service (fiksdalfuneral.com) is in charge of the arrangements. Lyn Thomas May was born on Wednesday, May 4, 1955 to Roy and Lillian (Schafer) May at Aberdeen, South Dakota. The family lived south of Andover in Andover Township, Day County, South Dakota. He was baptized and confirmed at All Saints Catholic Church in Andover. He attended school in Bristol and graduated from Bristol High School in 1973. He then attended and graduated from Dakota State University in Madison in 1977. After he received his education he returned to the family farm and farmed with his father and uncle. He farmed for over 30 years until the present time. He was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Bristol. He served as clerk of the Andover Township Board for 25 years. He also was a member of All Saint Catholic Church Cemetery Board. He enjoyed sports, especially following the Minnesota Twins and Minnesota Vikings. Reading was another favorite pastime. Lyn passed away on Friday, February 6, 2009 at his home at the age of 53 years, 9 months and 2 days. Survivors include three sisters, Barbara Konechne of Mitchell, SD, Sharon (Larry) Steffan of Mandan, ND and Shirley (Randy) Zipf of Woodbury, MN; an uncle and aunt, June & Steve Belohlavy of Yuma, AZ; nineteen nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Pallbearers will be Lyn’s Nephews: Martin Konechne, Richard Konechne, Thomas Konechne, Wade Konechne, Craig Steffan, and Ryan Zipf.
