WEBSTER- Lorraine Peterson, 92 of Webster died on Thursday, May 14, 2009 at Sanford Hospital in Webster. Her funeral will be at 2:00 P.M. Monday, May 18, 2009 at Fron Lutheran Church near Roslyn, Janet Johnson will officiate, burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be at Fiksdal Funeral Service (fiksdalfuneral.com) on Sunday 5-7 P.M. and prior to services on Monday. Lorraine Josephine Peterson was born on Tuesday, March 27, 1917 to Jacob and Isabelle (Sampson) Holland on the family farm in Independence Township, Day County, South Dakota near Pierpont. She was baptized at Falnes Lutheran Church and later confirmed at Tabor Lutheran Church. She attended country school near her home. After she received her education she worked in Webster for Wist Produce Company. On September 29, 1940 she married Christ Haagenson at Tabor Lutheran Church. After their marriage the couple made their home in the Roslyn and Webster area. Mr. Haagenson passed away in 1973. After his death she continued to live in Webster. On October 8, 1976 she married Clifford Peterson at the Stave Church near Rapid City. After their marriage they made their home on his farm near Roslyn. In 2007 they moved to Heritage Village Apartments in Webster. She was a Stanley Dealer for over 55 years. She was a member of Fron Lutheran Church near Roslyn where she was active in the Ladies groups. She was Raritan Township Treasurer for many years, was a member of Sons of Norway and the Webster V.F.W. Auxiliary. She loved to bake and do fancywork. Lorraine passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2009 at Webster, South Dakota at the age of 92 years, 1 month and 18 days. Survivors include her husband, Clifford of Webster; one brother, Ed (Elaine) Holland of Roslyn, SD; seven sisters, Irene Tvinnereim, Emma Waddle, Selma (Jay) Evenson and Helen (Ted) Nelson all of Webster, SD; Harriet Evenson and Judy Barber both of Bristol, SD and Serine (Earl) Althoff of Waubay, SD; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband, two brothers, Sherman and James and one sister, Josephine.
