BRISTOL - Lloyd Horter 95 of Bristol died Saturday November 21, 2015 at Sanford Hospital in Aberdeen. A graveside service will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday November 24, 2015 at Bristol Cemetery in Bristol. Visitation will begin at 1:00 P.M. at the Bristol Community Center in Bristol prior to the graveside service. A light lunch will follow back at the community center. It was Lloyd’s wishes that any memorials be directed to the following: SunDial Manor PO Box 337 Bristol, SD 57219 or Bristol Cemetery c/o Ralph Taylor PO Box 57 Bristol, SD 57219 Lloyd K. Horter was born on March 12, 1920 to Bruno and Lisa (Matson) Horter at Day County, South Dakota. He attended country school District # 142 and graduated from Bristol High School in 1937. After his education he continued to farm. On December 17, 1944 he married Betty Charles. Lloyd was very grateful to have spent 70 years married to the love of his life. After the couple was married, they continued to farm in the Bristol area. They raised three sons Kenneth, Steven, and Michael. Lloyd enjoyed hunting, fishing, and traveling. He also loved woodworking, playing cards, watching the Minnesota Twins, and above all he loved his family. Lloyd served on various boards and committees in the area such as Township Supervisor, F.H.A., ASCS, and Sun Dial Manor Board. Lloyd will be greatly missed by his wife Betty of Bristol, SD, three sons; Kenneth (Mildred) Horter of Sioux Falls, SD, Steven (Gayle) Horter of Andover, SD, and Michael (Dawn) Horter of Richland Center, WI, four grandsons; John, Ryan, Blake, and Tony, six great-grandchildren; Daniella, Lianna, Dane, Raegan, Ethan, and Cale. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and one sister.
