BRISTOL- Lester Loterbauer, 77 of Bristol died Saturday December 19, 2009 at Sun Dial Manor in Bristol. A memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday December 22, 2009 at Fiksdal Funeral Service in Webster, Rev. Janet Miller officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date. A friendship gathering will be at Fiksdal Funeral Service 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday. fiksdalfuneral.com Lester Loterbauer was born on March 16, 1932 to Frank and Emma (Stern) Loterbauer on the family farm near Crandall, South Dakota. He attended country school near Lily, South Dakota. After his education he worked for various farmers in the area. After a few years of working and saving, he began to rent land and farm on his own. He started a business known as Loterbauer Livestock to which he bought, raised, and sold cattle in the area. In 1958, he sold the farm and moved to Bristol, South Dakota. He continued to own and operate Loterbauer Livestock until his passing. Cattle buying was his absolute pride and joy. He loved what he did. Driving out in the country to check crops and cattle was especially a pleasure for him. He enjoyed fishing, cooking, farm animals, and of course being the cattleman he was. Lester passed away Saturday December 19, 2009 at Bristol, South Dakota at the age of 77 years, 9 months, and 3 days. He is survived by the love of his life, Victoria Bunke of Bristol, SD, two sons: Larry (Kathryn) Loterbauer of Madison, MN, Terry (Anita) Loterbauer of Omaha, NE, five brothers: Donald Loterbauer of Webster, SD, Edward (Leatta) Loterbauer of Bozeman, MT, Raymond Esther) Loterbauer of Watertown, SD, Glen (Jeanette) Loterbauer of Webster, SD, Robert (Rita) Loterbauer of Bristol, SD, two sisters: Irene (Bob) Howell of Aberdeen, SD, Francis Dewey of Bellville, KS, four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother James Loterbauer, two sisters: Alice Miller and Rachel Reiprich.
