LeRome Raeder, 77 of Webster died on Monday, September 19, 2011 at Bethesda Home in Webster.
His funeral will be at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, September 22, 2011 at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Webster, Rev. Daniel Ostercamp will officiate. Burial will be in the Webster Cemetery.
Visitation will on Wednesday 5-7 P.M. and prior to services on Thursday.
LeRome Edwin Raeder was born on Sunday, June 3, 1934 to Harold and Tena (Reiprich) Johnson at the Peabody Memorial Hospital in Webster, South Dakota. He lived with his parents and brother, Duane on a farm near Holmquist. He was baptized at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Webster.
In 1938, at the age of four, his father was killed in a car accident. After the death of his father they moved to Webster. In 1942 his mother married Reuben Raeder who later adopted him and his brother. They lived on a farm southeast of Webster in Rusk Township.
He attended country school in Rusk Township. He ws confirmed at the United Methodist Church in Webster. In 1966 his mother passed away. In 1967 Reuben and LeRome moved to Webster. They worked together cutting lawns and doing yard work. Beginning in 1975 he worked for the Webster City Garbage for sixteen years and then for Dependable Sanitation Inc. in Webster until his retirement in 1995. He entered Bethesda Home in August 2011.
He was a member of United Methodist Church until 1999 when he transferred to St. Johns Lutheran Church.
LeRome passed away on Monday, September 19, 2011 at Webster, South Dakota at the age of 77 years, 3 months and 16 days.
Survivors include two nieces, Linda (Doug) Coyle of Webster, SD and Gloria (Marion) VanEgmond of Cokato, MN; five great nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, step-father, and two brothers, LeVern and Duane.
