Larry Wagner, 73, of Webster, SD, passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at Bethesda Home in Webster.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, May 9, 2022, at Christ the King Catholic Church in Webster and will be livestreamed on Fiksdal Funeral Service Facebook page. Father Doug Binsfeld will officiate. Interment will be at St. Otto’s Catholic Cemetery in Webster. Luncheon will follow at Christ the King Parish Center.
Visitation will be from 4-6 P.M. at Fiksdal Funeral Service on Sunday, May 8, 2022.
L arry Duane Wagner was born on January 30, 1949, at Peabody Hospital in Webster, South Dakota to Duane and Lois (Monserud) Wagner. Larry grew up on the family farm in Morton Township, Day County. He attended St. Otto’s Catholic Parochial School through 8th grade and graduated from Webster High School in 1967. After his education he enlisted in the United States National Guard and was a member of the 147th Field Artillery. Larry was honorably discharged on August 20, 1973. Larry was united in marriage to Connie Orr on July 5, 1969, at Christ the King Catholic Church. To this union four children were born: Dan, Laurie, Steve, and Jeff. Larry farmed and milked cows until 1983 when he began his employment for Porter Auto Sales in Webster. In 2000 he joined Northland Auto where he sold cars until his retirement in 2014. Larry was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease in 2015. Larry entered Bethesda Home in 2021. Larry enjoyed collecting John Deere memorabilia and classic cars. He loved going camping with his family and friends and enjoyed listening to old country music. He was a member of Cruisin’ Classic Car Club. Larry passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at Bethesda Home in Webster at the age of 73 years, 3 months, and 5 days. Larry will be forever loved and missed by his wife of 52 years, Connie Wagner of Webster, SD; four children, Daniel (Joni) Wagner of Salem, SD, Laurie (Bil) Schmitz of Olivia, MN, Steven (Londa) Wagner of Sartell, MN, and Jeffrey (Sonya) Wagner of Aberdeen, SD; eight grandchildren, Jacob Wagner and Abby Wagner of Salem, SD, Ashley (Breckan) Ebnet of Albertville, MN, Morgan Schmitz (Luke Ryan) of Duluth, MN, Tate Wagner of Sartell, MN, Trace Wagner of Fargo, ND, Ava Wagner and Cash Wagner of Aberdeen, SD, and his siblings, David (Sandy) Wagner of Webster, SD, Kathy (Tom) Dains of Sioux Falls, SD, and Tom (Lori) Wagner of Webster, SD. He is preceded by his parents and niece Julie Wagner.
