Ken Parker

WEBSTER – Ken Parker, 78, of Webster passed away Wednesday February 12, 2020 at Sun Dial Manor in Bristol. A memorial service will be 7:00 P.M. Thursday February 20, 2020 at Fiksdal Funeral Service in Webster, Rev. Will Olsen will officiate. Memorial visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Kenneth Eugene Parker was born on January 30, 1942 to Robert and Anna (Thompson) Parker in Williston, ND. The family lived at Ray, ND where he grew up and attended school. He graduated from Ray High School. Ken lived in California for 10 years where he was a produce manager at a super market. He loved music and became involved in entertainment. He toured the West Coast and Midwest with his band and other artists. Ken enlisted in the US Navy in 1960 and was honorably discharged in 1961. In 1972, he moved to South Dakota 1972 and played with the Emil Wiese Band for several years and other area bands. He later organized the Black Diamond Band and opened shows for various artists such as Hank Thompson. He worked in the Larry King Show in the black Hills. Ken moved to Webster in 1994 and worked shoveling sidewalks in the winter and mowing lawns in the summer. Ken loved Country Western Music, especially Ray Price. He was an avid LA Lakers and Chicago Cubs fan. He also enjoyed taking trips to Sisseton to performing arts concerts. He is survived by one son, Robert Miley; two daughters, Kari Miley and Deionna Parker; three grandchildren, Jamie, Nicholas, and Nathan Miley, cousins Adelaide Johnsons, Donna Fettig, Jeannie Wolla, Orville Thompson, Shirley Darr, and Richard Leite. He is preceded by his parent and special friend, Ruth Lunsford.
