Jon Allen Hendrickson was born on Tuesday, September 6, 1955 at Webster, South Dakota to James and Farol (Beesley) Hendrickson. The family resided, at the time, on a farm northeast of Roslyn in Nutley Township, Day County, South Dakota. He was baptized and confirmed at Fron Lutheran Church. He attended school in Roslyn and graduated from Roslyn High School in 1973 where he was active in all sports. After he received his education he worked at Coynes Meat Market in Roslyn. In 1975 he joined his parents on the Hendrickson family farm in Liberty Township northwest of Roslyn.
On March 27, 1982 he was united in marriage to Judy Steiner at Roslyn Lutheran Church. To this union two sons were born, Jeremy James on August 5, 1982 and Travis Jon on December 2, 1986. Jon and Judy made their home east of Roslyn in Grenville Township where they have resided since. In 2005 his parents retired from active farming and he took over the farming operation which he continued until present time.
He was a member of Fron Lutheran Church where he loved to attend and support faithfully and served on the Church Council. He was also active in the Glacial Lakes Mens Club of Roslyn and was active in the community. Jon was a lifetime farmer and proud of it. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and he loved all animals, especially cats. He liked spending time with his wife, sons, as well as time at the family lake cabin on Pickerel Lake. He took great pride in watching his sons sporting activities and never missed a Roslyn basketball game. He enjoyed visiting friends at Co-op. Jon was a generous honest man who liked to help people whenever he could. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends; a very special person has left us. We are sad but so proud of his life.
