John T. Anderson

John Anderson, 75, of Webster, passed away on Saturday, August 7, 2021, at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD. Memorial Services will be 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at Fiksdal Funeral Service and will be live-streamed on fiksdalfuneral.com. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery near Lily, SD. Luncheon will follow burial at Fiksdal Funeral Service in Webster. Memorial Visitation will be Monday, August 16th from 5-7 P.M. at the funeral home. John T. Anderson was born on October 17th, 1945 in Lily, SD. He lived in Lily, then Bristol, SD with his parents Kathleen and Marcus and siblings Jim, Ray, Mike, Patty, Cliff, and Jerry. Playing sports and spending time with family were important to him. John graduated from Bristol High School in 1963. He received his bachelor’s at Northern University in 1968 and then a master’s degree from the University of South Dakota. John married Linda on June 21st, 1969, and had five beautiful girls: Angela, Rhonda, Brenda, Tamara, and Tressa. He taught upper-level math at Webster High School most of his career and was loved by his students who knew him as Mr. A. Coaching many different high school sports was an enjoyable experience for John and he welcomed helping kids overcome obstacles, while spending free time refereeing multiple sporting events. During the summer months and after retirement he painted local houses with his girls and brother Jim. John loved his eleven grandchildren, Brittni, Kassandra, John, Mark, Alexandria, Abigail, Jacob, Brooklyn, Kristopher, Timothy, and Kaya, and looked forward to the summer vacations he got to spend with his family. He was an easy going, lovable man who enjoyed sharing a drink with his friends while watching golf or any sport. He spent his free time playing Sudoku, jigsaw puzzles, crossword puzzles, reading, rock collecting, watching jeopardy with his buddies in the afternoons, sightseeing and leisurely car rides/walks to look at scenery and the leaves changing color in the fall, while also helping out in the community of Webster and Lily. Sadly, John passed away on August 7th, 2021, and will be greatly missed and forever loved. Memorials may be directed to Golden Age - 501 Main St, Webster, SD 57274.
