Jeanette LaVonne Schulz was born on August 17, 1935, to Ralph and Evelyn (Johnson) Schulz at Grandma Bass’ home near Round Lake, Minnesota. She was baptized and confirmed at a country church in Rusk Township, Minnesota. She attended St. Paul parochial school at Lakefield until 1949, when the family moved to Conde, South Dakota, where she attended high school.

On October 21, 1951, she married the love of her life, Glen Loterbauer at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Bristol. The Loterbauer farm was established in 1946, and Jeanette and Glen purchased the farm after they married and made their home there for the next 45 years. Jeanette worked alongside Glen managing their dairy operation as well as raising chickens, and large gardens. She also did a tremendous amount of canning, cooking, and baking. In 1977, Jeanette went to work at Dakotah Inc. in Webster. In 1996, the couple moved into their home in Webster. Their daughter Bonnie and her husband Steven moved back to the family farm to take over the farming operation. Glen passed away in 2019. Jeanette continued to live in their home until 2023, when she moved to Heritage Village.

Jeanette was a member of Crocker Lutheran Church and an associate member of St. John’s Lutheran Church since moving to Webster 28 years ago. Over the years she was very active in her church, teaching Sunday school, serving as WELCA president, and attending bible study. She was also a member of Sons of Norway, Volunteer RSVP, and the Webster Red Hat Club. She enjoyed playing BINGO and cards as well as following the Minnesota Twins and trips out to the farm. Jeanette was a very social and kind soul who cherished time with her family and friends. Her faith was unshakeable, and she will be greatly missed by all who loved her.

Jeanette passed away with her loving family at her side, Saturday, July 27, 2024, at Webster, South Dakota at the age of 88 years, 11 months, and 10 days.

She will be forever missed by her daughter Bonnie (Steven) Headley of Lily, SD, grandson Heath (Chelsea) Headley and their son Caleb James of Glascow, MT, sister Judy (Brad) Bailey of Salem, SD, "bonus daughter" Molly Gunderson of Mina Lake, SD, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Jeanette was welcomed to heaven by her parents, husband Glen, brothers Stanley Schulz and Jim Schulz, and one niece Julie Smith.
