Jean (Larson) O'Shea

WEBSTER – Jean O’Shea age 85 of Webster passed away peacefully with her son, Rick Nelsen at her side on Tuesday December 11, 2018 at Bethesda Home in Webster. A graveside memorial service will be held Monday May 27, 2019 at 2: P.M. at Tabor Lutheran Church Cemetery, Pastor Mike McCarlson will officiate. Fiksdal Funeral Service of Webster is in charge of the arrangements. fiksdalfuneral.com Jean Larson was born on June 29, 1933 to Hjalmer and Agnes (Tofley) Larson at Webster, South Dakota. Jean attended school in Roslyn, South Dakota and graduated from Roslyn High School in 1951. After graduation she moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin where she worked in the printing industry. In November of 1956, she was united in marriage to Lowell K. Nelsen. Jean and Lowell had two sons Ronald Jerome and Richard Carl. They were also blessed with four grandsons. Ronald has Justin, Jason, and Jeremy and Richard has Nicolas. The couple divorced around 1984. Jean continued to live in Milwaukee where she met Patrick O’Shea who also worked in the printing industry. Jean and Patrick married in February of 1990. Shortly after the couple reached retirement age, they relocated to South Dakota in a nice home on Blue Dog Lake near Waubay. In July of 2013, Jean had a stroke and moved to Bethesda Home in Webster. Jean liked the nursing home because she met and made many new friends and had a chance to crochet towels like she had done in the past. In May of 2015, Patrick had a major stroke and was admitted to Golden Living Center in Milbank, SD. Patrick passed away on November 11, 2015 at the age of 85. Jean loved her family and enjoyed time spent with family and friends. She especially cherished time with her grandchildren. She was just starting to get acquainted with her great-grandchildren before her passing. Her grandson Justin has two daughters Charlee and Pippa and a son Uriah. Justin’s wife Tiffany is one of the nicest people you would have the honor of meeting. She keeps Justin in line because he is a nut! Jean’s grandson Nick has one daughter Hailee and one son Finley. Nick’s wife Kourtney is as sweet as Tiffany and she works just as hard keeping Nick in line! Two very lucky fellas! Paul Musgrove and Cheryl Rice were very special to Jean. Throughout her life, they were always there for her. Jean also enjoyed flower gardening, she especially loved roses. Jean passed away peacefully Tuesday December 11, 2018 at Bethesda Home in Webster, South Dakota at the age of 85 years, 5 months, and 12 days. She is survived by one brother Alvin (Sonny) Larson of Webster, SD, one son Richard Nelsen of Waubay, SD, four grandchildren; Nick (Kourtney) Nelsen, Justin (Tiffany) Nelsen, Jason Nelsen and Jeremy Nelsen, as well as five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Ronald, two brothers; Leon and Gordon, and two sisters; Adeline and Sonja.
