WEBSTER - Jacqueline “Jackie” Kotzea 80, of Webster passed away Monday September 10, 2018 at Bethesda Home in Webster.
A scriptural prayer service will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday September 12, 2018 at Heritage Village Chapel in Webster, Fr. Melvin Kuhn will preside. Burial will be in the Waubay Catholic Cemetery near Waubay.

Jacqueline Yvonne Kotzea was born on November 18, 1937 to W.T. and Katherine (Hook) Dokter near Bristol, South Dakota. She was baptized and confirmed and a lifelong member of the Catholic Faith. At the age of five, the family moved to Roslyn, South Dakota. She attended school in Roslyn and graduated in 1956.
On February 14, 1957, she was united in marriage to Gene Kotzea at St. Otto’s Catholic Church in Webster. The couple made their home near Waubay, South Dakota. To this union six children were born. Gene passed away on October 9th, 1988. Jackie continued to live on the farm until the late 1990’s when the high water forced her to move to Pleasant View in Webster, South Dakota. In 2009, Jackie moved to Bethesda Home in Webster, where she was very active. She cherished her many friendships with the residents and staff at Bethesda.
Jackie was a member of Christ The King Catholic Church in Webster and the RSVP program. She enjoyed being active in the Day County 4-H program when her children were young. She also enjoyed listening to music, reading western-adventure stories, gardening, and playing cards.
Jackie passed away Monday September 10, 2018 at Webster, South Dakota at the age of 80 years, 9 months, and 23 days.
She will be greatly missed by her children: Ron Kotzea of Madison, SD, Joe Kotzea of North Port, FL, Darell Kotzea of Watertown, SD, Don (Sue) Kotzea and David Kotzea both of Aberdeen, SD, one son-in-law John Timmerman of Wessington, SD, one brother Tom Dokter of Anderson, CA, one brother-in-law Donald (Marcella) Kotzea of Waubay, SD, one sister-in-law Delores Czmowski of Kendrick, ID, and a special friend Pat (Bob) Reiner of Watertown, SD. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter Mary Timmerman, two brothers and one sister.
