Jack Zubke, 60, of South Shore, SD, passed away on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at Prairie Lakes Hospital in Watertown, SD.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at Immaculate Conception Church in Watertown and will be livestreamed on Fiksdal Funeral Service Facebook page. Family respectfully requests all in attendance abide by social distancing guidelines. Father Richard Fox will officiate.
Burial will be at St. Luke's cemetery of rural South Shore following the funeral mass. A luncheon will follow burial at the family farm near South Shore.
Walk through visitation will be Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at Fiksdal Funeral Service in Webster from 5-7 P.M.
Jack Lee Zubke was born on October 2, 1960 to Vergil and Evelyn (Mikkelson) Zubke in Webster, South Dakota. He was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Waubay, South Dakota. Jack attended country school near the family farm until 5th grade and then attended Waubay school until 8th grade. After his education he moved to Watertown and worked as a farmhand for Gene Kirsch.
He was united in marriage to Grace (Ewalt ) on October 17, 1981 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Grenville, South Dakota . Shortly after their marriage the couple bought a farm near South Shore where Jack continued to farm and raise livestock. To this union two daughters were born, Laurie and Leslie. Jack loved farming and old tractors. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and adored his grandchildren, Kolt, Elliot, and Addy.
Jack passed away on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at the age of 60.
He will be missed by his wife Grace Zubke of South Shore, SD; two daughters, Laurie (Brandon) Johnson of South Shore, SD and Leslie Zubke of Parkston, SD; two brothers Kellie (Lynne) Zubke of Rochester, MN; Jim (Pam) Zubke of Waubay, SD; one sister Cherrie (Dale) Whitlock of Webster, SD and one aunt Adela Allen of Sioux Falls, SD; his mother Evelyn Zubke of Webster, South Dakota; one sister-in-law Karen Zubke of Watertown, SD and his three grandchildren, Kolt, Elliot, and Addy Johnson. He is preceded in death by his dad Vergil, brother Rick, and his grandparents.
