Bristol- Ida Ludtke, 95 of Bristol died on Thursday, March 27, 2008 at Sun Dial Manor in Bristol. Her funeral will be at 10:30 A.M. Monday, March 31, 2008 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Webster, Rev. William Olsen officiating. Burial will be at Webster Cemetery, Webster. Visitation will be at Fiksdal Funeral Service in Webster on Sunday 2-5 P.M. and prior to services at the church. Ida Ruth Wein was born on June 25, 1912 to Christian and Emma (Link) Wein on the family farm near Butler, South Dakota. She was baptized and confirmed at Butler Lutheran Church in Butler. She attended Butler School and graduated in 1929. After graduation she enrolled at Northern State Teaching College in Aberdeen, South Dakota, where she received her teaching certificate. For the next thirteen years she taught at various schools in Day County. On June 12, 1940, she married Marvin Ludtke at Webster, South Dakota. After their marriage the couple made their home on the Ludtke family farm east of Webster where they farmed. Ida stayed home to raise their family. After their children were grown, Ida worked at the Bethesda Nursing Home in Webster for many years. In 2003, the couple moved to Webster and later to Johnson Center in Bristol, South Dakota. Mr. Ludtke passed away in January of 2004. Ida continued to reside at Johnson Center. She was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church where she was active in WELCA and taught Sunday school and Confirmation classes. She was also a member of BPW (Business, Professional, Women). She loved traveling, sewing, baking, playing cards with her grandchildren and spending time with her loved ones. Ida passed away Thursday March 27, 2008 at the age of 95 years, 9 months, and 2 days at Bristol, South Dakota. Survivors include: one son Rolfe (Linda) Ludtke of Webster, SD, one daughter Gretchen (Dan) Syhre of Denver, IA and seven grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one daughter Julane, two sisters and five brothers.
