Harry H. Zubke 88 of Webster died Wednesday April 25, 2012 at Sanford Hospital in Webster. His funeral will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday April 28, 2012 at Fiksdal Funeral Chapel in Webster. Burial will be in the Lakewood Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be Friday 5-7 P.M. at the funeral home. Harry Hugo Zubke was born on Saturday July 28th 1923 to Erich and Ida (Nechels) Zubke at Waubay, South Dakota. He was baptized at Zion Lutheran Church in Waubay and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. When Harry was five, the family moved to Grassy Butte, North Dakota where he attended grade school. After his education he worked at his uncle’s store in North Dakota and various other jobs. He then moved to Sioux Falls, South Dakota and worked at Terrace Park Dairy. He then moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota where he worked as a printer at Control Data Publishing Company. He married Rose Benedict and the couple made their home in St. Paul, Minnesota. He retired in 1985 and the couple moved to Rapid City, South Dakota, and later to Billings, Montana. Rose passed away on January 21st 1995. Harry then moved to Webster, South Dakota. On August 4th 2000, he married Evelyn (Mikkelson) Zubke at Watertown, South Dakota. The couple made their home in Webster. Harry was a member at Zion Lutheran Church in Waubay. He loved to do yard work, gardening, traveling and visiting with family and friends. Harry passed away on Wednesday April 25th, 2012 at Webster, South Dakota at the age of 88 years, 8 months, and 28 days. He is survived by his wife Evelyn of Webster, SD, four step-sons Donny (Dawn) Raduenz of Wickenburg, AZ, Jackie (Grace) Zubke of Watertown, SD, Kellie (Lynne) Zubke of Sargeant, MN, Jimmie (Pam) Zubke of Waubay, SD, six step-daughters Carol Soto of Chisago City, MN, Jean Chavez of Billings, MT, Shirley (Gary) Salzman of Las Vegas, NV, Joyce (Roger) Rambo of Pine City, MN, Karen Zubke of Waubay, SD, Cherrie (Dale) Whitlock of Webster, SD, five brothers, Harvey (Violet) Zubke, , and Dale Zubke, one sister Shirley Bisgard, and numerous step grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Rose, one step-son Richard Zubke, and three brothers Arnold, Orville, and Gerald.
