WEBSTER – Harrison Dean, 96 of Webster passed away Monday April 8, 2019 at Sanford Hospital Webster. Memorial services will be 10:30 A.M. Saturday April 13, 2019 at United Methodist Church in Webster. Visitation will be Friday 5-7 P.M. closing with a 7 P.M. prayer service at the funeral home. Harrison Herbert Dean was born on August 29, 1922 to Herbert and Martha (Kust) Dean at Olivet, South Dakota. He was baptized at the Baptist church in Webster. He attended Durry Country School near their home. On March 30, 1950 he was united in marriage to Arlene Behrens. To this union eight children were born. Harrison worked at Pete Monzel Company as a deliver man. In 1987, after 29 years with the company he retired, but didn’t stop working. Harrison ventured on as entrepreneur of Dean’s Market, Dean’s Greenhouse, and Dean’s Fireworks. He also sold Christmas Trees for many years. Arlene passed away in 1988. On October 7, 1989 Harrison married Evelyn (Nelson) Rucktaeschel. The couple made their home in Webster. Harrison and Evelyn continued operating Dean’s Greenhouse until 2009 when the couple retired. Harrison was a member of United Methodist Church in Webster. He enjoyed gardening, dancing, fishing, and playing cards. Above all else, he cherished time spent with his family. Harrison passed away Monday April 8, 2019 at Webster, South Dakota at the age of 96 years 7 months, and 10 days. He will be forever loved by his wife Evelyn of Webster, two sons; Marvin (Cathy) Dean of Barney, ND, Tom (Pam) Dean of Cogswell, ND, five daughters; Delsie (David) L’Esperance of Rapid City, SD, Dorcus Rasmussen of Gwinner, ND, Arla (Don) Schuster of Eden, SD, Bonita (Curtis) Erickson of Gwinner, ND, and Teresa (Mikal) Feuerstein of Sioux Falls, SD, one sister Lu (Laverne) Becking of Watertown, SD, two stepchildren; Rocky (Melissa) Rucktaeschel of Tyndall, SD and Roxan (Wes) Christensen of Waubay, SD, 43 grandchildren, 82 great-grandchildren (two more on the way!), and seven great-great grandchildren (seven more on the way!). He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Arlene, one son Dale Dean, two sons-in-law; Arlyn Rasmussen and Bruce Tchida, one stepson Richard Rucktaeschel, one grandson Troy Dean, one great-granddaughter Jade Dean and one sister Alma Regnier. .
