Gwendolyn “Gwen” Jesme, 71, of Webster passed away Monday November 1, 2021 at Sanford Hospital, Webster.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 A.M. ****Saturday November 13, 2021**** at Fiksdal Funeral Service in Webster. Inurnment will be at the Webster Cemetery at a later date.
Memorial visitation will be 5-7 P.M. Friday closing with a prayer service at the funeral home.
Gwendolyn Joy Sunne was born on August 6, 1950 at San Diego, California to Arlie and Beverly (Jameson) Sunne. At the age of ten years, the family moved to Wallace, South Dakota. Gwen attended school in Wallace, Bradley, and graduated from Webster High School in 1969. After high school, she moved to California where she worked as a baker decorating specialty cakes. In 1982, she returned to Wallace. On February 18, 1983, she married Dave Jesme at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Webster. The couple made their home in Webster. Gwen obtained her insurance license and sold insurance until her retirement in 2010. Gwen and Dave enjoyed traveling and wintering in Arizona. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and the Webster Legion Auxiliary. Gwen was a social butterfly who enjoyed visiting with family and friends over a good cup of coffee.
Gwen passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Monday November 1, 2021 at Webster, South Dakota at the age of 71 years, 2 months, and 26 days.
She will be forever loved and greatly missed by her husband Dave of Webster, SD, stepson Scott Jesme and stepdaughter Lisa (Jerran) Amsler all of Seattle, WA, one brother Douglas Sunne of Mojave City, AZ, and one sister Darlene “Dolly” (Jeff) Decker of Sioux Falls, SD, as well as several nieces and nephews, cousins, friends, and beloved dog Buddy. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister-in-law, Cheryl Sunne.
