Gordon Hough, 86 of Webster died Friday March 15, 2013 at his home near Webster. His funeral will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday March 20, 2013 at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Webster, Rev. Daniel Ostercamp will officiate. Spring burial will be in the Bristol Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday 5 – 7 P.M. with a 5 P.M. prayer service at Fiksdal Funeral Service in Webster. Fiksdalfuneral.com Gordon L. Hough was born on October 5, 1926 to George and Vera (Phelps) Hough at the family farm near Bradley, South Dakota. He was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran Faith. He grew up on a farm near Bradley and attended country school near the family farm. In 1944 he graduated from Bradley High School. After his education he enlisted in to the United States Navy and was stationed in Japan. After his honorable discharge he moved back to Webster and worked at Krogstad Cleaners. September 3, 1950 he was united in marriage to Janet Marx at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Bristol, South Dakota. To this union four children were born. In 1952, the couple began farming and continued until their retirement in 1988. In 1991, Gordon had a severe stroke that left him disabled. He was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church and the American Legion. He enjoyed farming, playing cards, fishing and especially spending time with his family. Gordon passed away at his home Friday March 15, 2013 at the age of 86 years, five months, and ten days. He is survived by his wife Janet of Webster, SD, his children Greg Hough of Webster, SD, Kristi (Larry) Baumgarn of Webster, SD, Randall (Barb) Hough of Webster, SD, and Don (Rhonda) Hough of Stilwell, KS, fifteen grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and one sister Avanell Wheaton of Olympia, WA. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Herbert Hough, and three great-grandchildren.
