WEBSTER- Gene Fellbaum, 51 of Webster died on Friday, June 23, 2006 from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident near Gillette, Wyoming. His funeral will be at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, June 29, 2006 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Webster, Rev. Jan FitzGibbon officiating. Burial will be in the Webster Cemetery. Visitation will be at Fiksdal Funeral Service in Webster on Wednesday 4-8 P.M. and prior to services on Thursday. Gene Paul Fellbaum was born on Monday, September 20, 1954 to Alvin and Ruby (Hagen) Fellbaum at Webster, South Dakota. He was baptized and confirmed at American Lutheran Church. He attended school in Webster and graduated from Webster High School in 1973. After high school he began working at Lake Region Electric Association and became a lineman. On May 10, 1980 he married Gail Anderson at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Bristol. After their marriage the couple made their home in Webster where Gene continued to work for Lake Region. He retired in January 2006 after thirty two and one-half years of service. After retirement he drove semi truck for a short time. In the mean time his wife, Gail had retired from babysitting and the couple went to work for Foothills Contracting. They were working near Spotted Horse, Wyoming at the present time. He was a member of American Lutheran Church where he served on the church council and taught Sunday School. He was a Boy Scout Leader, belonged to the N.R.A., The Compassionate Friends and the Gold Prospector’s Association. He loved camping, hunting, fishing, old country music, riding his Harley Davidson and gold prospecting. Last year he was able to bowl with his son on the same bowling league. He looked forward to greeting the children that his wife babysat for when he came home from work and he loved being with family and friends. Gene passed away on Friday, June 23, 2006 at Gillette, Wyoming at the age of 51 years, 9 months and 3 days. Survivors include his wife, Gail of Webster; two sons, Donald Fellbaum of Webster, SD and Gary Fellbaum of Watertown, SD; his mother, Ruby Fellbaum of Webster, SD; two brothers, Dale (Alice) Fellbaum of Aberdeen, SD and Doug Fellbaum of Holmquist, SD; and two sisters, Patricia (Tom) O’Bryan of Woodland Hills, CA and Cheryl (Alan) Hewitt of Watertown, SD. He was preceded in death by his father and one daughter, Kathryn.
