Francis Sigaty

Francis Sigaty, 93, of Webster and formerly of Watertown passed away Thursday January 7, 2021 at Bethesda Home in Webster. Memorial Service will be at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, October 23, 2021 at Fiksdal Funeral Service in Webster. Inurnment will follow at Webster Cemetery near Webster. The family respectfully requests that all in attendance wear masks and honor social distancing. Francis was born on January 19, 1927, in Britton, SD to Mike and Mary Sigaty. He attended school in Lake City, graduating from Lake City High School in 1945. He worked on the family farm from 1945 to 1960. Francis married Dorothy Liebel, in Groton, on April 8, 1961. They lived in Webster for 46 years, before moving to Watertown in 2011. Francis was an active member of Immaculate Conception Church and sang in the St Francis Choir. He was a very caring, kind, and considerate husband and father. He was very social, and a great communicator. He treasured all of his many Watertown friends. Grateful for sharing his life are his children: Paul (Rhonda) Sigaty of Aberdeen, SD, Patti Jo (Tony) Henry of Northfield, MN, Susan (Aaron) Steiner of Watertown, SD, Gregory (Ruby) Liebel of Aberdeen, SD, Gary (Julie) Liebel of Watertown, SD, and Kristi (Kevin) Koppmann of Cannon Falls, MN. Grandchildren: Brandon and Kala Sigaty; Jesse Henry and Kaci DeGroot; Meagan Konvalin; Shannon Jorgensen and Dwayne Liebel; Jason and Jeanna Liebel; Christopher Koppmann and Heather Bouska. Francis also leaves behind fifteen great-grandchildren and a sister Delores Lesnar of Grenville, SD. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Liebel Sigaty; his son Gregory Liebel; his grandson Dwayne Liebel; his parents Mike and Mary Sigaty; four brothers, Ed, Lambert, Myron, and Joe Sigaty; and two sisters, Lucille Lesnar and Leona Crouse.
