WAUBAY – Frances Pischke, 98, of Webster and formerly of Waubay passed away Saturday February 1, 2020 at Bethesda Home in Webster. Mass Of Christian Burial will be 10:30 A.M. Thursday May 21, 2020 at Immaculate Conception Church in Waubay. Burial will be at Waubay Catholic Cemetery. Due to Covid-19 regulations, we ask that those in attendance be mindful of social distancing. Frances Margaret Breske was born on September 17, 1921 to Joe and Theophilia (Lewandowski) Breske in Day County, South Dakota. She joined seven brothers and one sister. She attended school in Waubay and graduated from Waubay High School. After high, school she attended Northern State College in Aberdeen. On December 26, 1942, she married Bernard Pischke at Pensacola, Florida. The couple made their home in Waubay and to this union six children were born. In 1961, the couple started the Lakeview Drive-In on Bluedog Lake in Waubay. The family owned and operated the business for 8 seasons. Frances then worked as an aide at the Waubay School until she and Bernard retired. Frances was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Waubay. She enjoyed cooking as well as watching her sons and grandsons play baseball, and softball. She always looked forward to visitors staying with her for hunting and fishing trips. Frances was known for her wonderful sense of humor and it wasn’t very often you saw her without a smile on her face. God took Frances to her heavenly home on February 1, 2020. She was the most loving, caring, and giving woman that we have ever known. She will be greatly missed by her daughter Sharon (Larry) Eldeen of Redfield, SD, five sons: Michael (Christie) Pischke of Bridgewater, SD, Joe (Bonnie) Pischke of Spokane, WA, Pat (Libby) Pischke of Fort Worth, TX, Paul (Linda) Pischke of Berthoud, CO, and Charles (Theresa) Pischke of Corsica, SD. She also leaves 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, seven brothers, one sister, and two grandchildren; Jon Eldeen and Anthony Pischke.
