Forrest Grimes, Jr., 64, of Crocker, SD passed away Sunday, September 29, 2019 at Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls.
Memorial Services will be at Crocker Lutheran Church in Crocker, SD at 4:00 PM Friday, October 4, 2019. A Celebration of Life will follow at 5:00 PM at the Crocker Bar.
Forrest Allen Grimes Jr. was born March 8th 1955 to Forrest Grimes Sr. and Gwen (Czmowski) Stanley in Webster, South Dakota. Forrie attended school in Conde and Webster. He graduated from Conde in 1973.
Forrie was a man of many talents. He did a variety of jobs throughout his life. He loved to travel, hunt, fish, and he loved his Harley’s. He rode with many different clubs but was only a member of two. He was an opinionated man and was not afraid to tell you. He was always right (even when he wasn’t). He was also a man that would do anything at the drop of a hat to help his friends. You couldn’t go anywhere that he didn’t know someone. The love of Forrie’s life was Crocker, South Dakota. He loved the farm and his community. His house and garage were open to all who wanted to stop and talk or to have a Blue Smoothie.
Forrie passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2019 at the age of 64 years, 6 months, and 21 days.
Forrie will be sorely missed by his daughter, Alyssa (Keith Harris) Grimes of Redwing, MN; two brothers, Fred Grimes of Watertown, SD and Jim (Laurie) Grimes of Webster, SD; one sister, Georgia (Jerry) Peterson of Mesa, AZ; many nieces and nephews, and the many friends whose life he touched. He was preceded in death by his parents, Forrest Grimes Sr. and Gwen Stanley; one sister, Valerie Franson, and many special friends.
