WEBSTER- Florence Engebretson, 92 of Webster died on Saturday, June 30, 2007 at Sun Dial Manor in Bristol. Her funeral will be at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, July 5, 2007 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Webster, Rev. Jan FitzGibbon officiating. Burial will be in the Webster Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church on Thursday from 11:00 A.M. until service time. Fiksdal Funeral Service of Webster is in charge of the arrangements. Florence Edna Deuschle was born on Tuesday, April 6, 1915 to Carl “Charles” and Bertha (Herr) Deuschle on the family farm northeast of Butler, South Dakota. She was baptized and confirmed at Faith Lutheran Church in Butler. She attended Midway #155 country school and then graduated from Butler High School in 1933. After high school she helped relatives and families with housekeeping and babysitting. On November 25, 1936 she married Gordon Engebretson at her parents farm home near Butler. After their marriage the couple made their home in Webster. She worked at Knapp’s Café and then Bethesda Home in Webster for over thirty years until her retirement. Gordon passed away in December 1994. After his death she remained in her own home until 2004 when she moved to the Johnson Living Center in Bristol and then in December 2006 she entered Sun Dial Manor. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Webster where she was active in Ladies Aide and Circle. She was a member of Hoe and Hope Garden Club. She also served on the Needs Annonymous Board of Directors and was a tireless volunteer for several years. She enjoyed raising flowers in her large garden and was a bird watcher. Florence passed away on Saturday, June 30, 2007 at Bristol, South Dakota at the age of 92 years, 2 months and 24 days. Survivors include three sons, Allen (Kate) Engebretson of Durham, NC, Richard (Hortencia) Engebretson of Katy, TX and Raymond (Mary Ann) Engebretson of Columbus, OH; one brother, Otto Deuschle of Bristol, SD; one sister, Vera Sunne of Watertown, SD; ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter (Barbara Ann) and six brothers and sisters.
